Season champions crowned during Jeff Hartwell Memorial Race.

By Eric Gaede

September 4th 2011 , Colby , KS – The fifth annual Jeff Hartwell memorial races were bittersweet for Kerry and Leesa Wark as it was the last races they would be promoting. Kerry had a group get together and thanked all his helpers and supporters in front of the crowd during a short intermission. Thank You Kerry, Leesa, and everyone else that has helped throughout the last 21 years for keeping the sport of dirt track racing in Colby! It really does provide great entertainment and a boost to the local economy. Hopefully someone will step up and take over the reigns for the next year and beyond.

IMCA Modifieds

Adam Morris proved to everyone that he will be a threat in the future ending a great year with the win in the Jeff Hartwell memorial race. Nate Moore made it up to second but couldn’t get to the leader before the checkered flag fell. John Hansen, who won the IMCA Modified Shootout during the fair, had to settle for third on this night.
