Justin Boney wins his second straight F&M Insurance $5000 Modified Shootout.

Aug 3-4, 2007 Colby, KS.–Fans were greeted with two great nights of racing as the F&M Insurance Modified Shoot Out returned for its tenth year. Justin Boney of Leavenworth , KS took home the big check for the second year in a row. He had some tough competition as 43 of the best drivers from six different states came to Colby to put on a great show and compete for their share of the purse.

Modifieds

Justin Boney #18b used a win in his heat and a win in the Friday night A main qualifier to guarantee a start on the pole for the 40 lap Saturday night shootout. From the pole he only had one challenger as # 4t Dave Trauernicht, Beatrice NE passed him on a restart on lap ten but it only took a couple of laps for Boney to retake the lead. Boney had to survive one more restart before the finish of the race and Eddie Martin #51of Stillwell OK used that restart to take second place from Trauernicht. Martin finished 2 nd and Trauernicht finished 3 rd. Troy Gemmill #721 from Ponca City, OK made his way from eighth starting spot to finish 4 th and Will Brack #15w and Matt Brack #16m both from Mead, CO finished in the 5 th and 6 th positions. Seventh place was Jay Noteboom #7n from Hunton IA and Brandon Gemmill #G3, Ponca City , OK ran 8 th. Chad Dolan #87d from Gibbon, NE was 9 th and Jerry Phillips #66 of Galva , KS rounded out the top ten. Twenty eight cars started the shootout main.

Stock Cars

Ryan Wark #8 won his fourth main event this year Saturday during night two of the modified shootout. Wark held off strong challenges from Angel Munoz #95j who came in 2 nd and Jason Rogers #37 finishing 3 rd. Wheat Lippelmann #44 came in 4 th and Travis Towns #3 finished 5 th. Jeremy Blackwill #25 returned to Colby the first time this year and finished 6 th. Mike Meyer #01 came in 7 th and Eric Kinderknecht CZ8 finished 8 th. Twelve cars were on-hand.

Bombers

Brian Morris #8 used a pole start to hold off challenges from Raymond Dechant #00 and Scott Urban #74 to get his second win of the year. Dechant finished 2 nd and Urban finished 3 rd. Angel Munoz #97j grabbed 4 th and Mike Giesenhagen #111 came in 5 th. Ron Haremza #11x finished 6 th and Brett Glassman #16x ended in 7 th. Fifteen cars were on-hand.

Econos

Chad Fields #10f won for the fourth time this year but had been running in second until then leader Lee Hagman #4 lost an engine and slowed a few laps from the end. Justin Colby #17 ran well all night and finished 2 nd. Dusty Knox #99 finished 3 rd and Lynn Wright #3d ran for the first time this year and finished 4 th. Dan Blair #86 was 5 th and Andy Blackhart #1 finished 6 th. Fourteen cars were on-hand.
