Fabrizius wins Modified Feature at Thomas County Speedway .

July 23, 2006 . Colby , KS . –Racing resumed at the Thomas County Speedway Sunday, July 23 after the July 9 th races were canceled due to rain. A slight breeze and warm temperatures made for a smooth dry-slick track for the racers to adjust for.

Modifieds

John Fabrizius #42 won from the pole in a quick race that only had one caution. #16z Jeremy Zorn and #34h Doug Holzmeister were right on his bumper the whole race for 2 nd and 3 rd. #3 Brady Coen tried the low line all race but couldn’t edge ahead of them and finished 4 th. #21 Darren DeLoach did get the low groove to work and was the hard charger of the race coming from 10 th to 5 th position. Last year’s super stock racers #86 Justen Beakley, #41 Ronnie Hill, and #55 Wheat Lippelmann finished 6 th through 8 th. Nineteen cars started the main.

Stock Cars

Brad Wagoner #77 used a loaner car to get a win in a division he will be retuning to in the future. Wagoner got passed #37 Jason Rogers a couple laps from the finish. Rogers finished 2 nd after leading the race until that point. #3 Travis Towns was right with them for 3 rd place. The #01 Mike Meyer and #30 Tom Nelson finished a close 4 th and 5 th. Seven stocks started the main with some bad luck ending #30s Brent Beckman’s and #111 Mike Giesenhagen’s night in the heats.

Bombers

The #3RT of Travis Branum got his third main event win in a row and has really turned his season around. #25 Jeremey Blackwill tried everything to get around him but came up short for 2 nd. #69

Matt Giesenhagen was 3 rd and #3m Brent Moss gained on his points lead and finished 4 th. 11x Ron Haremza and #21m Matt Morris rounded out the top 6. #72 Mike Nordyke had his first start and finished 7 th. #00b was driven by Troy Plummer and finished 8 th. #38 Allen Kurth came in 9 th with #21 Allen Snethen finishing 10 th. Seventeen cars started the main.

Econos

The econo class main event was again dominated by the #3d of Jeff Doty, with the #31 of Alex West coming in 2nd. #11 JR Wolfrum was 3 rd. #2 Jason McClung, #4 Lee Hagman and #10f Chad Fields rounded out the top 6. Seven econo’s started the main.
