All four divisions had new winners for the year. Jason Schoenberger won the Modified division moving to second in points, Ryan Wark won in the Stock Car class putting him in a tie for first in points, Brett Glassman won the Hobby Stock class moving up to fourth place in points and Chad Normandin won the Econo class. The weather was perfect for racing after having another rain out two weeks before this makeup race. The next races will be next Sunday July 5th. See you at the races!
Jason Schoenberger #6 took the win for the second time in his career at Colby. Nick Tubbs #737 tried hard on the restarts but just couldn’t get too the lead and finished 2 nd. Matt Morris #21m had a good lead built up but the restarts allowed the field to bunch up and he ended up 3 rd. Brady Coen #3 was coming up through the field quick at the beginning of the main and finished 4 th. Adam Morris #8x also came up through the field making his biggest moves at the end of the race and finished 5 th. There were nineteen Modifieds on hand.
Ryan Wark #8 got his first win of the year and moved into a tie with Jason Rogers #37 for the season points. Dustin Daniels #33 is back racing in the Stock Car class and ran a close 2 nd with Rogers right behind them for 3 rd. Wheat Lippelmann #44 came in 4 th and Bruce Plumisto #01w was 5 th. BJ Wagoner #51w finished 6 th and #7 Rod Bencken was 7 th.
Brett Glassman #16 got his first win of the year and held off the hottest driver of the year BJ Dauer #33. Dauer came from the back of the pack twice after having to go into the pits for a flat tire and still made it too a 2 nd place finish. Travis Glassman #26 came in 3 rd and Josh Latka #96 was 4 th. Mathew Crowell #2c finished 6 th and Chad Fields #10f was 7 th. There were fourteen cars in the Hobby Stock class.
Chad Normandin #01 was also a winner for the first time this year holding off John Luckert #37. Joe Austin #07 finished 3 rd and Dusty Pennington #13 came in 4 th. Alex Crossland #27 must have had a backup car as he had a spectacular crash on the front stretch and rolled right in front of the grandstands. Crossland came back in the main and held off #12 Tyrel Smith for 5 th and Dylan Hageman #9 finished 7 th. Eleven cars started the main.
