Track NewsMurray gets win #402 at Thomas County Speedway .

June, 15th 2008 Colby KS.- Thirty-three Modified drivers were on hand for the second IMCA BST series race of the year. David Murray Jr. won his 402nd IMCA Modified main event. Other winners of the night were Ryan Wark in Stocks, Brett Glassman in Hobby Stocks, and Alex West in the Econo class. The track was smooth and took on rubber with three wide racing at times and plenty of passing. NASCAR champion Randy LaJoie was on hand and finished 20 th in his third time out in a dirt modified. The next races are scheduled for July 6 th at 7:00 pm so come on out and take a break at the races after harvest.
Modifieds
David Murray Jr. #97m had a very good week winning all five BST events in five days. Murray started on the pole and led from start to finish in a caution free main event. John Hansen #8h was never more than four car lengths from Murray and almost made it past him when they got into lap traffic but had to settle for 2nd position. Ronnie Hill #41 and Darren Deloach #21 had a great battle with Hill getting 3rd and DeLoach in 4th. Will Brack #15w made it from the twelfth starting spot to finish 5th. Jeff Tubbs #37 and Matt Brack #16m finished 6th and 7th. Jason Schoenberger #6 was 8th and Mark Zorn #21z and Robbie Haines #9r rounded out the top ten. Thirty-three modifieds were on hand and twenty-four made it to the A Main.
Stock Cars
Ryan Wark #8 broke through for his first win of the year edging out Travis Towns #3 in a close race start to finish. Jason Rogers #37 was not far behind in 3rd and Dan Lauer #49 in 4th and Tom Nelson #34n was top five in his first appearance in Colby. Rich Beesley #46k finished 6th and Wheat Lippelmann #44 was 7th. Marshall Hoppe #11h finished 8th, and B J Wagoner #51w in his first start in Colby was 9th, with Ryan Kinderknecht #85 rounding out the top ten. Travis Scherfick #66 and Brad Wagoner #15w both had mechanical problems and ended up 11th and 12th.
Hobby Stocks
Brett Glassman #16 got his second feature win in a row by holding off Todd Pankonin #16d and Travis Glassman #26. Pankonin finished 2nd and Travis Glassman 3rd. Hans Houfek #59 ran well in his first time at Colby and was 4th. Richard Boon #33 beat another first time Colby starter Leland Stute #3L for 5th. Matthew Crowell #2c was 7th in his first start at Colby and Allen Kurth #38 came from last starting spot to finish 8th. Two more Colby first timers Luke Pfannenstiel #5x and Josh Latka #96 finished out the top ten. Fifteen Hobby Stock cars were on hand.
Econos
Alex West #31 got the top spot for the second race this year by outrunning Chad Fields #10f who after the main was over ended up loosing his car to a claim. Lee Hageman #4 came in 3rd and Dan Blair #86 was 4th with J R Wolfrum #11 with a top five. Chad Normandin #01 finished 6th and Tyrel Smith #88 ended up 7th. Another Colby first time racer was Michael Weigel #1 in 8th. Justin Noga #22 and Alex Crossland #27 rounded out the top ten. There were seventeen Econo cars on hand.
