June 3, 2007 Colby , KS . –The racers had a smooth dry/slick track to race on for the third races of the season at the Thomas County Speedway Sunday night. Drivers from Colby won the top three divisions with Matt Fabrizius coming out on top in the Modifieds. One item of interest about Matt’s car is the patriotic paint scheme on the car. Matt painted it in honor of his father who is a Veteran and all the veterans of the United States Military. He has made an offer to any veterans that they can autograph his race car. The next races are on Fathers Day June 17th. There will be a special “Family Night” kids twelve and under will get in free with a paying adult. See you at the races!
Modifieds
Matt Fabrizius #62 got his first win of the year at the Thomas County Speedway. John Fabrizius #42 started along side his brother and finished right behind him for second. Ronnie Hill #41 had a great run all night and was 3rd. Dwayne Dechant #2d fought hard on the outside lane with #21 Darren Deloach following him up through the pack for 4th and 5th place. Chris Remetes #10 had a strong showing in 6th. Angel Munoz #2m followed up his third place run in the stock car class with a 7th place finish in the modifieds. Brady Coen #3 was 8th Jeff Tubbs #37 was 9th and #86 Justin Beakley rounded out the top 10.
Stock Cars
A smaller than normal field still put on a outstanding race for the stock car class. It was a three way battle every lap for the win. Ryan Wark #8 returned to the winner circle in Colby after taking a couple years off from racing. Wark was running third for most of the race and got an opening for the lead with just a couple laps left in the race. Travis Towns #3 swapped the lead for much of the race with #95w Angel Munoz but fell to second and Munoz finished 3rd. Jason Rogers #37 had the best seat in the house to watch the battle up front as he was a close 4th. Jimmy Jenkins #97j was the last of the top 5.
Bombers
Travis Branum #3rt had to fight hard for the win but got it as he passed #11x Ron Haremza. Haremza finished 2nd with #27 Adam Morris in 3rd. Jimmy Jenkins was fifth in the stock cars and 4th in the bombers. Jeff Doty #3d was in a new race car and brought it home in 5th. Allen Kurth #38 finished 6 th and #8 Brian Morris 7th.
Econos
The Econos always put on a good show for the fans as sometimes the cars don’t handle as well as they should. Adrienne West #7 showed us the bottom side of her car as she came back on to the track after going off the top side of turn one. She was unable to finish the race however. Lee Hagman #4 and Chad Fields #10f had a great race for the top spot with Hagaman getting the win and fields 2nd. Dan Blair #86, Chad Normandin #01 and Donavan Nichols #44 were all at Colby for the first time and finished 3rd through 5th. Alex west #31 was 6th and #00 TJ Yarger was 7th.
